Un uomo di 54 anni esce di prigione nella provincia di Corrientes, Argentina. Il suo unico desiderio è raggiungere sua figlia, ormai adulta, che vive in un luogo sperduto nella foresta. Per arrivare fino a lei affronterà un lungo viaggio in una piccola imbarcazione, percorrendo i fiumi che attraversano la giungla impenetrabile. Vargas è un uomo taciturno e riservato, una riservatezza caratteristica delle persone che vivono a stretto contatto con la natura. Il mistero circonda lui, i luoghi e le persone che incontra lungo il suo percorso attraverso un mondo che durante la sua prigionia è rimasto praticamente immutato.


A 54-year-old man gets out of jail in the Province of Corrientes, Argentina. Once released, he wants to find his now adult daughter who lives in a swampy and remote area. To get there, he must cross great distances in a small boat on the rivers scoring deep into the jungle. Vargas is a quiet and self-contained man; he possesses the restraint of those living close to nature. A deep mystery surrounds him, the people he encounters and the places he goes through that takes in the unalterable world he finds almost unchanged after his long years of incarceration. 


Un homme de 54 ans sort de la prison   de Corrientes, en Argentine. Il veut retrouver sa fille devenue adulte qui vit dans une région isolée et marécageuse. Pour y accéder, il lui faudra parcourir de grandes distances sur une petite embarcation sillonnant les cours d'eau à travers une jungle impénétrable. Vargas est un homme silencieux   et retenu, qui possède la réserve   de ceux qui côtoient la nature de près. Il se dégage de lui, des lieux   qu'il parcourt et des gens qu'il croise un profond mystère émanant de ce monde immuable et resté presque intact après ses longues années d'incarcération.
